At Haddington Retail Park in Edinburgh we created a bespoke site layout to tackle the limited grid connection while still serving as many customers as possible.
We take a bespoke approach to our landlord partners’ sites, installing the charging set-up that maximises the rapid charging sessions delivered to their customers during a typical dwell time. Haddington Retail Park for Ediston is a great example, where the grid connection was limited but we knew there would be high demand so wanted to serve more than just one or two customers at a time.
We therefore optimised available power by installing three high-power (75kW) chargers that can each simultaneously charge two cars. The retail dwell time justified this power-sharing approach that maximises the number of cars the chargers can serve at any one time and lowers waiting times.
A typical charge takes between 25-55 minutes, customers can pay by contactless bank card as standard, and can shop nearby at The Food Warehouse or Aldi, or re-charge themselves at Costa Coffee.
