Osprey partners with Octopus Energy

Osprey Charging partners with Octopus to continue 100% renewable energy commitment and bring EV Discovery Days to locals

Osprey Charging has partnered with Octopus Energy to bring 100 % renewable electricity to all Osprey Charging charge points across the UK, including Osprey Charging’s biggest-scale partnership to date with Marston’s Inns and Taverns.

  • To celebrate the launch of the partnership Octopus Electric Vehicles hosted the first of several local Discovery Day events on Saturday April 13th at the new Osprey Charging rapid charge points at Marston’s Bakehouse pub in Welwyn Garden City, giving over 40 locals the chance to test drive a range of EVs and discover how easy rapid charging can be.
  • Local EV drivers and Octopus Energy customers within a 15-miles radius of Welwyn Garden City can also enjoy free charging from April to June 2019 at any Osprey Charging charge point – register at: octopusev.com/ev-rewards.

Osprey Charging and Octopus Energy have joined forces in an exciting partnership to continue Osprey Charging’s commitment to an 100% renewable electricity supply to our rapid charge point network.

Osprey Charging’s rapid chargers are simple to use, with contactless payment, and can charge an EV with 75-100 miles in around 30mins, depending on the car and the way it is driven – perfect for drivers to top up while they eat, shop or even workout. Marston’s family- and business-orientated restaurants and pubs therefore provide an ideal location for rapid charging, with 200 sites planned in the next two years.

Re-fuelling is being revolutionised by the electric vehicle. Our first-of-its-kind partnership with Marston’s is part of our nationwide roll out of rapid charge points in places where people already spend time eating, shopping or meeting colleagues, friends and family. Through our partnership with Octopus Energy, Osprey Charging is delighted to introduce our convenient rapid charging service, powered by 100% renewable energy, to even more people across the UK. Starting with the Welwyn Garden City Discovery Day at Marston’s Bakehouse pub, I’m looking forward to working with Fiona and the Octopus team to enable our customers to drive emissions-free and charge hassle-free.

Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging

To celebrate the Osprey Charging-Octopus partnership, Octopus Electric Vehicles ran a first Discovery Day at Osprey Charging EV chargers at The Bakehouse, Welwyn Garden City, giving over 40 locals the chance to test drive and EV and many more the chance to talk with Osprey Charging reps about driving electric and rapid charge points.

Octopus Electric Vehicles is also giving Welwyn Garden City locals who already have an EV three months of free unlimited charging at any Osprey Charging rapid charger! EV drivers who live within 15 miles can enjoy the offer that runs from April through June 2019 by registering for an RFID card at: octopusev.com/ev-rewards.

The Discovery Day and free charging offer for locals is expected to be the first of a series of events at Osprey Charging and Marston’s EV rapid charging sites.

Reliable rapid charging with 100% green energy is critical for mass adoption of electric cars – supporting people without driveways, and those on longer journeys. Octopus is delighted to partner with Osprey Charging, to supply and promote its efficient network at Marston’s restaurants and other great destinations across the country, helping clear up local air pollution and enabling us to move to a zero-carbon transportation.
