COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – update for users of our charge points

We would like to reassure our customers that the majority of our chargers continue to be open for use at this time.

The following restrictions apply to chargers located at these Marston’s pubs with car park barriers:

Chestnut Tree, Wednesbury – closed, no access
Blue Jay, Derby
– closed, no access
Spring River, Ebbsfleet – closed, no access
Spread Eagle, Gailey – closed, no access
Unicorn, Gunthorpe – closed, no access
Spindle & Thread, High Wycombe – closed, no access
Canterbury Bell, Thanet – closed, no access

Our helpline is open 24/7 as usual, and our contact team on support@ospreycharging.co.uk can also answer your questions. We do urge our customers to follow the government advice on non-essential travel.

We are working closely with our contractors and suppliers to ensure charger uptime, service and maintenance is continued at normal levels as much as possible. Our own staff are working from home and following social distancing and other advice from the government to protect our communities.

All our chargers are self-service, so customers come into contact with both the touch screens and the handles of the rapid charging cables.

Whilst we carry out regular site cleaning visits which include wiping down the charging cable handles, charge point screen and card readers, it is likely that multiple drivers will come into contact with these parts of the charger on a daily basis.

Following government advice we strongly recommend that our drivers wash their hands after using charge points. Use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer is a good alternative if hand-washing is not possible.

At this unusual time we know that drivers need up-to-date charging availability information more than ever. We will continue to update Zap-Map with live charger status (available, in-use, out of service) and provide proactive communication on Zap-Chat for any chargers that require maintenance.
